Do you have a dollar?

I was in the parking lot of Western Beef after having successfully completed the mission getting a package of Nathans best for that nights dinner, chili dogs. A young women approached the car as I was sitting there and asked,"Do you have a dollar?'' I refused her request as I have many times before as she did not seem to truly be in need. She walked away and I continued to prepare to leave the lot and head home. Moments later when I looked up she was a few feet away smoking a cigarette, talking on her cell and had reached in her pocket and spilled several bills, more then I had on me, unaware on the ground behind her.
The thought quickly entered my mind, all I had to do was wait till she walked away and the phony panhandlers  cash was mine. I know but if you say you would never think it even for a second I doubt it. As I said it was just a thought and I quickly tapped my horn a pointed out to her the fallen cash. She picked it up waved thanks and we both went our separate ways.
I must admit I felt some resentment toward her. If she could afford smokes and a cell why did she need my dollar? Looking back now I remember a time when I had a good job smokes but no cell, yeah I'm that old, but always seemed to be broke. Was I any better then her? Instead of panhandling off strangers I was hitting up friends. It was all about me just like it's probably all about her. I don't know her story but I know mine so maybe next time I'll give her a dollar and tell her she can change her story.
